3:41 pm. Called to order by Carol Ludlow.

 

The first item for discussion regarding the CALDA brochure project was the price of the brochures to the members. Connette felt that current price of $75.00 for the brochures and $75.00 for the questionnaires was a fair price to make them affordable for new members. Carol, Debbie, Annette and Nancy agreed. Jeanne felt the price was too high. There were many questions regarding the length of time to produce, discounts, quantity, etc...

 

Carol requested a motion. Connette motioned to charge $75.00 for the brochures and $75.00 for the questionnaires as the initial purchase price. Debbie seconded the motion.

 

Moira felt we should have more financial information and Jeanne also felt that we didn’t have enough information to make an informed decision. Sandy pointed out that we should agree on what our goal regarding the brochures was first so the prices could follow accordingly. She also mentioned that the original price was for 10 brochures, but that we are currently at 30 with a need for more. Debbie suggested the proceeds should generate a profit for CALDA. Marcel asked Carol to remove her request for the motion pending further discussion.  Carol rescinded her request.

 

Sandy thought it a good idea for CALDA to commit to a program to increase the brochures by at least 2 per month for the next 12 months and revise the existing brochures. Sandy suggested to the board via email $175.00 for a complete set of brochures and $125.00 for questionnaires which would include updates for one year Moira suggested the price of $5.00 per brochure. Sandy pointed out that some brochures are very detailed while others are not. Moira made a suggestion to the board via email about a basic starter set which was then discussed and favored.

 

Debbie moved that we charge $75.00 for a basic set of brochures, $75.00 for a basic set of questionnaires and $175.00 for a full set of brochures and $125.00 for a full set of questionnaires. Connie seconded the motion. Jeanne abstained due to lack of info. Everyone else agreed and the motion was carried.

 

The next item for discussion was the cost of the annual renewal fee. Sandy has previously suggested annual renewal fees of $75.00 for brochures and $50.00 for questionnaires. There was discussion regarding yearly updates, monthly updates, twice yearly updates or updates as needed. It was agreed that this issue should be resolved at a later time as we needed more information to make a decision. It was also agreed that it was important to focus on the bankruptcy brochures at this time.

 

Meeting adjourned at 4:41 p.m.
