A legal document assistant may provide general published factual information
that has been written or approved by an attorney such as self-help
materials (books, software, etc.) published by nolo.com and
other self-help publishers, as well as the public service
brochures that the California Association of Legal Document
Assistants (CALDA) has published on dissolution, paternity,
bankruptcy, adoptions, unlawful detainer actions, etc. All
of these brochures have been "approved" by an attorney in
accordance by B&PC Section 6400, et seq.
CALDA also offers
MCLE Classes (Mandatory Continuing Legal Education) at
different times of the year.
