A Victory for Legal Document Assistants: Governor Signs AB 690

I am pleased to announce on behalf of the California Association of Legal Document Assistants (CALDA) that AB 690, authored by Assemblymember Phil Chen (R-Yorba Linda), has been signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom.

Sponsored by CALDA, this legislation extends the statutes regulating legal document assistants (LDAs) for an additional six years, from January 1, 2024, through January 1, 2030. Read more
